Middle School Summer Reading (for incoming 7th and 8th graders)

Even though school is ending for summer break, that doesn’t mean reading needs to end as well! Extensive research shows that children who continue to read during the summer maintain or improve their reading skills and perform better when school resumes. To promote summer reading, we are expecting that all incoming PHA Middle Schoolers read and complete one line on the BINGO chart.

Early Childhood Summer Reading (for rising 1st-3rd graders)

The purpose of summer reading is to encourage students to read an approved book that appeals to their interests that will instill a love of reading as well as increase literacy across the campus. The following books were chosen based on many criteria, including reading level, content, interest, and more. Students should choose one or more books per month to read over the summer from the grade-level list below and complete the corresponding project. Happy reading!
