Tim Cappetta

Education: University of Connecticut, Bachelor of Arts (journalism, history); American International College, Master's of Education
 
Previous work experience: Before coming to Prospect Hill Academy, Mr. Cappetta taught in the Everett Public Schools, both as an 8th grade and 6th grade Social Studies teacher and as a long-term substitute. Before he was a teacher, Mr. Cappetta was a sports and technology journalist for various newspapers and websites.

Hobbies and interests: Mr. Cappetta is an avid reader, whose favorite books include To Kill a Mockingbird, The Great Gatsby and Dune. He's an enthusiastic Boston sports fan and also has an appreciation for many kinds of movies and music.

Why did you choose to work at Prospect Hill Academy?: "I chose to teach at PHA because I believe in guiding students to ultimately be independent, free-thinking adults. My greatest joy in teaching Social Studies and History is to promote an understanding and respect for other people's cultures and shared experiences, as well as encouraging meaningful conversations that connect the events of the past to our current times."
