UE Family Communication 4.12.24

Tuesday and Thursday brought on an entirely different but impressive event as our scholars took on their first MCAS assessment of the year.  Their teachers and leaders were thrilled to see them take on the English Language Arts assessment with confidence and determination. Perseverance was readily displayed in how our scholars took their time on the assessments. So many students were still working at the end of Tuesday's recommended two-and-a-half-hour testing window that we had to extend the session an extra thirty minutes to accommodate their desire to continue working! After testing was complete, many students reported feeling both confident and proud of their work on the assessment, and their teachers could not have agreed more! A huge thank you is owed to the families and caregivers who helped to make this a positive and confidence-building testing experience for so many of our scholars.  We are so grateful for this PHAmily!

With this sincere sense of gratitude, I wish you all a restful and rejuvenating April break!  Thank you for all you bring to this community, and, as always, please don’t hesitate to reach out with any questions, concerns, or ideas to share.

Be well,

Amy O’Connell
Upper Elementary Interim Principal
