Adventure Education at Outdoor Classroom
This week, our 4th graders attended Outdoor Classroom, a three-day, two-night outdoor education program that focuses on environmental science, social-emotional learning, and adventure education. For many of our students, it is both their first time being away from home and being immersed in nature. They had a blast!
An Engaging STEAM Saturday
Our STEAM Saturday spring session kicked off on March 21st. Over the course of four Saturdays, our K-8 students had the opportunity to explore, discover, and learn outside the traditional classroom by participating in fun, hands-on, and interactive Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Math activities. Students enjoyed a range of engaging classes like Cinemakitchen, Pokemon Movie Adventures, Nature Club, Beats Builder, Community Art, and more.
AP Environmental Science Field Experience
Our AP Environmental Science class recently explored food access and sustainable food systems through a hands-on field experience. Students visited a Harvard University greenhouse to learn how controlled environments support plant growth, and observed food availability and pricing at local markets. This trip helped them connect classroom concepts to real-world systems while gathering data for their ongoing project on improving community health and sustainability.
