Who should apply to the BoSTEM summer program? Rising 10th and 11th graders from the Greater Boston area should definitely apply! We look for students who are curious about STEM and motivated to contribute to their community.
How much does BoSTEM cost the students who attend? $0. We try to provide our scholars with everything they might need, including public transportation fares, breakfast, and lunch.
Where is the BoSTEM summer program? In classrooms and laboratories on MIT's campus (77 Massachusetts Avenue, Cambridge MA, 02139).
When is the BoSTEM summer program? In the summer of 2020, BoSTEM will start on 6 July and end on 7 August (5 weeks). The program runs from 10am - 5pm, and full attendance is strongly encouraged.
What do BoSTEM Scholars learn? Biochemistry, physics, and computer science - all taught by college students who remember what it was like to be new to these topics and know how to make them fun! Every Wednesday, BoSTEM Scholars learn non-academic skills that will help them succeed in college (e.g. college finances, how to interview). Along the way, BoSTEM Scholars build amazing friendships that last well into the new school year.
