Rachel Wetschensky

Education: Kansas City Art Institute (B.F.A. in Painting), University of Central Missouri State (B.A. in Special Education--Mild to Severe), Vanderbilt University (Masters in Special Education--Reading and Behavior), Boston University (C.A.G.S. in Reading Education)
 
Previous experience: Before coming to PHA, Ms. Wetschensky taught special education for 5 years to students with severe and profound disabilities at Maple Valley State School for the Severely Disabled in Missouri. 
 
Hobbies and interests: Outside of school Ms. Wetschensky wants to be in the great outdoors and with animals as much as possible.  She enjoys reading, painting, playing softball, scuba diving, and taking classes.
 
Why did you choose to work at Prospect Hill Academy?:  "I knew I wanted to work at Prospect Hill when I met and observed a lesson with David Thelemaque (now a PHA graduate--class of 2016).  I said to myself, 'I want to teach a student of that caliber in this place where mutual respect between teachers and students is palpable.'"
