Meet the PreK - 6 Team!
Miriam Lebon, LCSW, “Ms. Lebon” is the full time Adjustment Counselor at the Early Childhood Campus. Ms. Lebon has been a counselor at PHA since 2017 and has experience working with homeless families as well as in-home and outpatient therapy. Ms. Lebon is fluent in Haitian Creole.
Madison Akin “Ms. Akin” is a licensed School Adjustment Counselor and Guidance Counselor at the Early Childhood and Upper Elementary campuses. Before joining PHA in 2022, Ms. Akin had 26 years experience providing school counseling services for students & caregivers in Vermont.
Jonathan Newell, M.Ed., “Mr. Newell” is the full-time School Counselor at the Upper Elementary School campus. Before joining PHA in 2023, Mr. Newell was the Student Support Coordinator at JGW Middle School in Haverhill and Dean of Students at the Collegiate Charter School of Lowell.
Alyssa Penney, M.Ed., Ed.S, N.C.S.P., “Ms. Penney” is the School Psychologist for the Early Childhood and Upper Elementary School. While Ms. Penney is able to meet with students and has a counseling caseload, she is also the evaluator for preschool to 6th Grade students for Special Education services. Before joining PHA in 2020, Ms. Penney worked in special education and with children and families in community settings.
